How It Works

The laser specifically targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. The laser concentrates its energy on the melanin and effectively destroys it (and the attached hair follicle) through heat energy, preventing future growth. The amount of treatments required will be determined by hair type and color, body area, skin type and hair growth cycle. Treatment times will vary based on the area(s) to be treated. In preparation for your treatment, avoid sun exposure for a minimum of two weeks beforehand and do not bleach, pluck or wax the hair for at least four weeks prior. Because the laser targets hair pigment, avoid bleaching the hair and any form of tanning – this will make it harder for the laser to distinguish differences in pigment and can result in laser burn.

Recovery

The skin may be slightly red immediately following the treatment. This response can last a few minutes to several hours depending on the individual.
